1. Does everyone need to complete a waiver to climb at your facility?

Yes, everyone is required to complete a Risk and Release Form prior to climbing. All participants under the age of 18 must have their parent or court appointed legal guardian sign the waiver before they can climb. Legal guardians must bring proof of their guardianship. No exceptions to this policy can be made.

2. Its my first time climbing, what should I wear?

Wear comfortable, loose clothing. We rent all the necessary equipment to climb in our facility. If you do not want to rent climbing shoes, athletic shoes are recommended. Climbing helmets are offered to everyone free of charge.

3. What is the difference between Bouldering and Top roping?

Bouldering is climbing on relatively low walls. Climbers who boulder do not use ropes because the walls are low enough to jump down safely. Bouldering is a great way to experience climbing, develop strength, and hone your climbing skills. Partners are not needed to boulder. Bouldering is a great way to meet new people.

Top roping is climbing on higher walls. The climber must tie into a climbing rope and have a partner on the ground managing the rope. The rope management is called "belaying". This system, when used correctly, keeps the climber safe by stopping or "catching" them if they fall.

4. Do I need prior climbing experience to climb at your facility?

No. If you are not experienced you have 2 options - you can boulder or you can take our Beginner Lesson to top rope.

5. What if I already know how to belay?

We require everyone ages 16 and up has The Climbing Wall's belay certification. If you are an experienced belayer you can take the Belay Test anytime staff is available. This test is required for your protection and for the safety of all climbers in our facility. Belayers must properly tie in using a follow through figure eight knot, set up a standard belay device, and demonstrate safe belay technique. All of these skills must be demonstrated without any assistance. If you do not pass the test, you will not be able to use the top roping area. However, you would be permitted to boulder. (Minimum belay age is 16)

6. If I don't have a partner, do you provide belayers?

We do not provide belayers. However, we can help match you with a climbing partner.

7. Are children permitted to climb at your facility?

Yes! Anyone ages 6 and up is welcome. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult when climbing in the Bouldering Area. We also offer a Kids Climb program weekly for children ages 6-15. Climbing Birthday Parties are another option for kids.

8. What are the benefits of having a membership?

A membership gives you unlimited access to our facility during operational hours, free harness and belay device rentals, half price climbing shoe rentals, discounts on classes and private lessons, access to member only days, and more!

9. Do you offer group rates?

Yes! We offer group sessions for scout troops, school groups, church groups, birthday parties and more. Let us provide your group with an exciting new experience. Can be tailored to fit your needs. No experienced required.

10. Do you offer discounts for military or any other organization?

Yes! We offer discounts to active military with a valid military id. We also offer discounts to college students and several local outdoor clubs with a valid student id or membership card. Discounts do not apply to first visit. Look at our prices page for current discounts.
